GOI Mission Camp 3: Every Life in God’s Hands

28 December 2025

By Pastor Frank - Mandarin Congregation Pastor

At this Mission camp, I heard many moving stories and witnessed the wonderful work of God in different mission fields. Among them were people from various tribes in Malaysia who shared how their tribal chiefs and witches encountered the power of the gospel, and how they eventually led the entire tribe to put aside their former beliefs and ways of life to follow Christ. Such transformation and renewal are not happening only in Malaysia, but in many places of the world. This is by God’s grace, and also the fruit of many missionaries’ faithful service.

In addition, many young missionaries shared their personal journeys into the mission field. Some were musicians, artists, engineers, counselors, or even kindergarten teachers. What reminded me most was not that they gave up their original professions to become missionaries, but how they brought their life experiences, professional training, and gifts into the mission fields God had entrusted to them, becoming bridges to reach people, understand them, and serve their lives.

It became clear that the missionaries God uses are not only those who stand behind the pulpit, but disciples from diverse backgrounds and with a wide range of skills. Each of us has already been equipped in certain areas, yet we often fail to realize that the experiences in our lives which seem unrelated to missions are, in fact, precious tools in God’s hands. He does not waste any part of our lives; the skills we have learned, the paths we have walked, and the experiences we have accumulated can all be transformed and used by Him as channels of blessing to others. The key question is not what we are able to do, but whether we are willing to place everything we already have into God’s hands.

May we carry our unique life stories and gifts, respond to God’s invitation, and participate in the work He is carrying out.
