SENIOR PASTOR
John Macindoe
John married Anna way back in 1990 and has since been enjoying the best years of his life. They are the proud parents of three adult children, and grandparents of five beautiful boys. John commenced as Senior Pastor in 2023 and his prayer is that Central Baptist Church increasingly shines as a landmark of God’s goodness and glory in the city of Sydney.
John is passionate about explaining the Bible in a clear and convicting way so as to lead people into a greater awareness of God’s love. He likes to spend his spare time walking his dogs, paddling kayaks whilst fishing, and enjoying other people’s company.
INTERNATIONAL PASTOR
John-Jo Burns
John-Jo started at Central Baptist in 2023 as International Congregation Pastor. He’s studied at UTS, SMBC and Morling College and has previously worked as a Digital Business Analyst. He recharges by reading widely and through good music.
CANTONESE PASTOR
Daniel Chan
Daniel is a warm and approachable pastor who grew up in Central Baptist Church since his high school years, and he developed a deep love for the community and a strong sense of faith early on. He is known for his genuine care and active listening, always making time for personal connections with his church members. Married to Joan back in 1998, they have two daughters who are the joy of their lives.
Daniel is passionate about preaching the Word of God that leads to greater understanding of Christ. He enjoys wine, driving, is interested in history, politics and enjoys the company with other people.
MANDARIN PASTOR
Frank Liu
Frank was converted and baptised in 2012 at Central Baptist Church. Frank met his wife Cindy Huang that same year. They married in 2015 and have two children.
Frank was called to equip himself in 2017, so he began studying at Chinese Theological College of Australia and graduated with a Bachelor of Theology in 2020.
Frank joined the Pastoral Team as an associate pastor in Mandarin Congregation in Jan 2021. He likes to talk with others and build close relationships with congregants.
THAI PASTOR
Nunthana (Nun) Saicholkhongsuk
Nun is from Chiang Rai Province, Thailand. Her family is Lahu ethnic. Nun married Thewin (Num) and had a daughter named Arina (Irene).
In 2016, Nun and Num arrived in Sydney to study general English courses. Since arriving in Sydney, Nun and her family had been attending the International service at Central Baptist Church. In September 2023, she was ordained as a Reverend and became an Accredited Minister of the Baptist Churches of NSW & ACT.
Nun loves meeting people to share the gospel, making disciples of Jesus Christ, and pastoring brothers and sisters to build a healthy church community of believers.
